Oscar

Oscar is a 50’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 2000 by Black Country Narrowboats and fitted out by the original owner. She had a full survey in August 2025, followed by blacking and 4 new anodes in January 2026, so she is well prepared for sale.

The external paintwork is in good condition, creating a great first impression, before stepping into the large open well deck (6’11”). There is plenty of space here for a table and chairs, or freestanding lockers for additional storage. The 450L polypropylene water tank is housed below. 

Steps lead down, through glazed forward doors and glazed bulkhead, into the 10’8” saloon. Here is a sofa bed (converts to spare double), Villager Heron solid fuel stove, a gateleg table and a cupboard for storage. Side doors (with demountable glazed panels) either side bring in additional light and fresh air.

The 5’9” galley follows, with laminate worktops,  stainless steel sink, Aobosi 12v fridge with icebox (new Feb 2026), Bompani 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, and a microwave. A range of drawers and cupboards provide ample storage. With the current electrical set up, the owner was able to also run an induction hob and electric kettle.

A central corridor leads into the 4’9” walkthrough bathroom, with a quadrant corner shower, ceramic wash basin, Thetford PortaPotti toilet, and more storage.

Next is the 5’0” engine room, housing the Beta 1505 engine, which was serviced in January 2026. Side hatches either side, and a pigeon box over, bring in additional light too. A portable washing machine is also housed in here.

The aft cabin follows, comfortable at 8’8” with a boatmans cabin cross bed (6’4” x 4’0”), all the usual storage, and a solid fuel stove. A step leads out onto the trad stern deck.

Power is provided by 1x 12v 300ah lithium domestic, 1x 24v 100ah lithium domestic, 1x 12v 110ah lead acid domestic, and a separate starter. 1.2kw of solar helps keep the batteries topped up. 240v power is provided by a 1600w Victron inverter/charger, or landline hookup. A galvanic isolator is also installed.

Hot water is via the engine, immersion or 24v solar dump.

Lighting on board is LED throughout.

She comes with all the relevant navigation equipment to turn the key and go.
