52' 0" Traditional 2001 John White
Hyack is a lovely 52’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 2001 by John White. She was fully repainted in March 2024, including blacking, and the gas locker, and remains in good condition throughout.
She is fitted out in a mix of oak faced ply and oak tongue and groove, all with sapele trim, and a mix of vinyl flooring and carpet.
The 3’11” cratch covered well deck features lockers either side, with the stainless steel 405L fresh water tank housed below.
Steps lead down into the 11’6” saloon, with an L-shaped dinette and demountable table (converts to spare double), Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove, and a couple of cupboards. A demountable TV aerial brings in cables split to the saloon and bedroom.
Next is the 10’ 7” bedroom, with a fixed 6’3” x 4’0” double berth (storage under and over). There is also a large half height wardrobe with drawers under, and another little cupboard for storage.
The bathroom is 6’5”, featuring a square shower with tiled surround, ceramic wash basin recessed into the cupboard top, and a Dometic cassette loo with 2 cassettes.
The 9’0” galley is in the aft cabin, with laminate worktops, Spinflo oven, grill & 4 burner gas hob, microwave, composite sink, 12v Shoreline fridge with icebox, and a Hotpoint washing machine. There are both high and low level cupboards and shelves for ample storage. A starboard side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
Steps lead into the engine room, with the Beta 38 engine housed below. This was serviced last in May 2025.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired system connected to 3 radiators and a towel rail. Hot water is via the engine, Eberspacher, or immersion.
12v power is provided by 3x 120ah domestics, with a separate starter. 240v power is provided by a Sterling 1800w inverter, or landline hookup, with a Sterling battery charger. There is also an Electrolux 3.5kw travel power generator for 240v whilst cruising.
Lighting on board is LED throughout.
She is ideal for extended cruising or liveaboard life, and comes with all the relevant navigation equipment to just turn the key and go!
