Mosi-Y-Tunya

Mosi-Y-Tunya is a 57’ semi-trad stern narrowboat, with a large sliding metal hatch, giving her the appearance of a more traditional stern. The hull was built in 2000 by Morvoren Seacraft, and she was fitted out by Ted’s Boatyard and first commissioned in 2002.
The open well deck is 4’10” with a storage locker to the front, and access to additional storage in the bow locker. The 1,100L stainless steel water tank is below.
Steps lead down, through glazed stable doors, and a glazed bulkhead, into the 11’0” saloon. Here is an L-shaped sofa bed (converts to spare double) with ottoman storage under, a bespoke wooden bookshelf, 28” Acer 12v TV monitor with Amazon firestick, and a Kabola Old English diesel stove (with a dedicated 60L fuel tank).
Next is a 4 seat dinette, which converts to an additional spare berth, and has plenty of storage space under.
The 7’4” galley follows, with wooden worktops, stainless steel splashbacks, a composite sink, 12v Shoreline fridge, Thetford Duplex gas oven & grill, 3 burner gas hob, Zanussi washing machine, and more storage. A Houdini hatch over brings in additional light and fresh air.
This leads into the 5’7” walkthrough bathroom, with a quadrant corner shower, with a wallboard surround, a ceramic wash basin, Leesan Vacuflush toilet, and another couple of cupboards for storage.
Next is the 9’6” bedroom, with a fixed 6’3” x 4’0” double berth, storage under and cupboards over, and a large double wardrobe at the foot end.
Steps lead out onto the 4’0” semi-trad deck, with access to the gas locker, and a couple of fold out taff seats for cruising. The Barrus Shire 50hp engine is housed below.
The Kabola diesel fired stove has a back boiler, which heats 2 radiators within the boat, and hot water is provided via the Kabola, engine or an immersion.
12v power is supplied by 2x 190ah domestics, with a separate starter, topped up by 300w of solar with an Epever solar charge controller. 240v power is via an Electrolux Travel Power generator, Prosine 1000w inverter, or landline hookup. An Adverc battery manager, Gamma battery charger, and galvanic isolator are also installed.
Lighting onboard is LED throughout, most of which have a blue light night mode as well as normal white light.
She is named after one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls, and so shes is very at home on the water, and would be ideal of summers spent cruising.
