Darth Wader

Darth Wader is a lovely 62’ reverse layout cruiser stern narrowboat built in 2014 by Findlay Boats. She was last blacked in September 2024 with 4 new anodes fitted at the same time.

She is fitted out in light painted ply throughout, with a mix of engineered oak and tiled flooring, for a light and modern feel.

The 8’8” cruiser stern deck features a wrap around taff rail, and a tonneau to protect the deck from the weather. The Barrus Shire 38 engine is housed below, which was serviced in March 2025.

Steps lead down into the 16’1” saloon, with a large sofa bed (converts to a spare double), Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove, and plenty of cupboards for storage.

Next is a breakfast bar with two stools, with access to the Indesit 6kg washer/dryer below. This connects to the 10’5” galley, with granite worktops, an Indesit dishwasher, 12v LEC fridge with icebox, eye-level Belling oven, Spinflo 4 burner gas hob, Panasonic microwave, a Belfast sink, and plenty of storage. Side hatches either side (with glazed internal sliding doors) and a Houdini hatch over bring in plenty of light and fresh air.

The 6’5” bathroom follows, with a ceramic pumpout toilet, ceramic wash basin with more granite worktops, and a tiled shower with a built in bench seat!

Following, the 10’7” bedroom features a 6’0” x 5’0” cross bed double berth, with storage under and cupboards over. A range of other cupboards and slim wardrobes provide ample storage for clothes.

A step leads out onto the 4’2” well deck, with lockers either side, and a good condition cratch cover over. The 650L stainless steel water tank sits below.

She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired system connected to 3 radiators, and hot water is heated by the engine, Webasto or immersion.

12v power is supplied by 4x 110ah domestics, with a separate starter, topped up by 175w of Victron solar, with a Solar Technology International solar controller.

240v power is via a Sterling ProCombi S 2.5kw inverter/charger, or landline hookup with a galvanic isolator.

Lighting on board is LED throughout.

She will make a lovely liveaboard home for anyone looking to get far, far away.
