Meg A Star

Meg A Star is a superb quality 55’ reverse layout semi-cruiser stern narrowboat built in 2015 by Viking Canal Boats and fitted out by MegAStar Boats. As with the rest of MegAStar narrowboats output, the fit out is solid, light and stylish throughout.

She was last blacked in summer 2025, and a full survey from November 2018 is available for viewing in the office.

The cruiser stern deck is 8’0” with the Beta 43 engine housed below. This was serviced last in  November 2025, and cruised little since. Navigation is aided by a Lewmar bowthruster.

Steps lead down into the 9’7” galley. The work tops in here are black granite, there is plenty of cupboard space, the utilities comprise of a 12v  LEC fridge with icebox, a 3 burner gas hob, a raised CAN oven & grill with a microwave as well, and a Zanussi Aquacycle washing machine.

A 16’0” saloon follows, with an L-shaped dinette with side hatch opposite (converts to a spare double), 2 comfy armchairs and good shelf space with a large cupboard housing the 29” TV .

A corridor on the starboard side leads to the 6’3” bathroom. This feels luxurious and has a glass door shower cubicle, cupboards & shelves for linen, a heated towel rail, a modern Thetford cassette loo and a ceramic counter  top basin over a vanity unit.

The 8’6” bedroom is in the forward cabin. The fixed 6’0” x 4’0” double berth has large drawers under and lots of cupboards over.  This can extend to 4’8” wide, There is a large wardrobe at the foot of the bed. The windows in here and the bathroom are 15” portholes (the rest of the boat being bus style windows). 

She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel system heating 3 rads and the towel rail. Hot water is via the engine, Webasto or immersion.

12v power is provided by 4x 110ah domestics, with a separate starter and bowthruster supply. 240v power is via a Victron 3kva Multiplus inverter, landline hookup, or a Honda suitcase generator. A Numax battery charger and galvanic isolator are also installed.

Lighting on board is LED throughout.

A lovely boat, and is ready for immediate all year round use.
