70' Traditional 2003 Orion
Gefion is a charming 70’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 2003 by the well regarded Orion Narrowboats. She has been well prepared for sale, benefiting from a survey and blacking in April 2026 with 6 new anodes fitted, so shes ready to turn the key and go!
The 7’0” well deck features a low level locker near the bows, with plenty of additional space for a table and chairs if required.
Steps lead down into the 14’0” saloon, with 2 captains chairs, 2 folding stools and a couple of folding tables. Bookshelves and a large front step provide ample storage. A Refleks diesel stove sits in the corner, keeping the boat toasty.
Next is the 7’0” galley, with beech block worktops, stainless steel sink, 12v Dometic fridge with icebox, Country Leisure oven, grill & 4 burner gas hob, and heaps of cupboards for storage.
A large 9’11” study follows, with a decent sized desk, a fixed bench seat with storage under (can also be used as a single berth), a Candy washer/dryer, a full height double wardrobe, and a couple of smaller cupboards.
The 4’7” modern bathroom is next, with a quadrant corner shower, Thetford Porta Potti toilet, stainless steel wash basin, and a series of shelves for storage.
An engine room follows, housing the Beta 43 engine with a hospital silencer. The engine was serviced in July 2026.
Heading aft, the 13’0” boatmans cabin features a fixed 6’3” x 5’0” double berth, as well as all the usual boatmans cabin features (cupboards, fold down table, fixed bench) and a Hobbit solid fuel stove. A step leads out onto the trad stern deck.
12v power is supplied by 5x 110ah domestics (new January 2026) with a separate starter, topped up by 300w of solar with a Runda MPPT solar charge controller. 240v power is via a Dakar Combi 2.5kva inverter/charger, or landline hookup (with a galvanic isolator).
Lighting on board is LED throughout, and hot water is supplied via the engine or immersion.
Side hatches in the saloon, galley, study, and engine room all bring in additional light and fresh air, as do the pigeon boxes over the saloon, study and boatmans cabin.
Shes a lovely boat, ideal of extended cruising or liveboard life.
