48' 6" Semi Trad 2009 G and J Reeves/Wheltonfield Limited
My Lady J is a charming 48’6” semi-trad narrowboat built in 2009 by G&J Reeves, and fitted out by Weltonfield Ltd. She has been in the same hands since new, and benefits from a new cratch cover and rear tonneau in 2023, along with blacking and 4 new anodes in 2023 as well. She has also just had (March 2026) a full survey & this is available in the office for viewing.
The bows contain the 700L integral water tank, which creates a deep well deck (head height on the boat is 6’4”). There are lockers either side for storage, and a demountable table for alfresco dining.
Glazed forward doors, with glazed windows in the bulkhead, lead through into the 10’5” saloon. There is a fixed bench seat, which converts to the main cross bed double berth, a folding table, comfortable armchair, Villager solid fuel stove, Bush 19” TV, and a couple of cupboards for storage.
Next is the 6’5” galley, with laminate worktops, a Stoves 500DIT gas oven, grill & 4 burner hob, Proline 230v fridge with icebox, a separate portable coolbox, and 2 stainless steel sinks. A starboard side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
The walkthrough bathroom follows, and although compact at 5’4”, this cleverly packs in a Thetford cassette loo, plastic wash basin above storage, and a square shower enclosure.
The bedroom features a fixed single berth on the starboard side, and a fixed bench seat on the port side (which converts to a spare single when needed). With a few modifications this could easy become a cross bed double if required.
Steps lead out onto the 4’6” semi-trad cockpit, with lockers either side. The gas locker containing 2x 13kg propane bottles is on the port side, and the Beta 38hp engine is house below (last serviced in September 2025).
She is centrally heated by an Alde gas boiler connected to 2 radiators and a towel rail, and hot water is via the engine and the Alde.
12v power is supplied by 4x 135ah domestics with a separate starter. 240v power is via the Victron Phoenix Multiplus 2kva inverter/charger, or the landline hookup with a galvanic isolator.
Lighting on board is LED throughout, except for halogen wall lights.
A lot is packed into this little boat, and at less than 50’ she really will go anywhere on the network!
