60' Semi Trad 2017 Cauldon Boats / Knights Narrowboats
Matilda is a stunning 60’ semi-trad narrowboat built in 2017 by Cauldon Boats and fitted out by Knights Narrowboats to an exceptional standard.
She was 2 pack Epoxy blacked at launch, and has been out on hard standing every winter, during which routine maintenance and paintwork touch ups have been carried out when necessary.
The cratch covered well deck is 3’10”, with plenty of space for a table and chairs. The 600L stainless steel water tank is housed below.
Steps lead down, through glazed forward doors, into the 9’10” saloon. The quality of the fit out is instantly obvious. There is a sofa, 32” Samsung TV, Morso Swift solid fuel stove, and a couple of cupboards for storage.
An L-shaped dinette follows, which easily converts to a spare double, with a demountable table, wine rack, large amount of storage under, and even a pull out 12v freezer. A portside hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
The 8’8” galley follows, with wooden worktops, Belfast sink, Blomberg 240v fridge, Thetford Midi Prima oven & grill, Thetford 3 burner gas hob, and lots more cupboards and drawers.
Next is the 6’4” bathroom, with a quadrant corner shower, macerator pump out loo, and large ceramic wash basin.
The bedroom is large at 13’2” with a decent sized wardrobe (which also houses a Beko 5kg washing machine), fixed 6’0” x 4’3” double berth which extends full width to 6’0” x 6’1”, and more high and low level cupboards.
Steps lead out onto the pram covered semi-trad deck, with lockers either side, and the Beta 43 engine housed below. This was serviced in summer 2026, with spare parts on board too. There is also a rear tonneau cover, which can be used instead of the pram when required.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired boiler connected to 3 radiators, and hot water is via the engine or immersion. It is likely that the Webasto also heats the hot water, however this cannot be confirmed.
12v power is provided by 3x 160ah Lithium domestics, with a separate starter, topped up by 1700w of solar. A Victron MPPT solar charge controller, Victron Cerbo GX, Victron battery monitor and Victron Battery Protect are all installed, along with a galvanic isolator and landline hookup.
240v power is via a Victron 2kw inverter/charger or the landline.
Lighting is LED throughout.
There aren’t many boats that make you say WOW but this is definitely one!
