59' Trad 2002 Fenland Narrowboats
Acacia is a lovely 59’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 2002 by Fenland Narrowboats. She has been fitted out professionally in oak faced ply with sapele trim, and has been extremely well cared for, having been blacked every year, most recently in June 2025, 6 anodes fitted, and a full service history on the engine too.
The 4’2” cratch covered well deck features a wooden plank bench, and plenty of space for removable chairs. The integral water tank is housed below, and has been repainted every 2 years.
Steps lead down, through glazed forward doors, into the 9’3” saloon. Here is a 2 seat sofa, easily swapped for a sofa bed if required, a Hunter solid fuel stove, and a range of shelves and a cupboard for storage.
This leads onto the 5’9” L-shaped dinette, with a demountable table, with more storage under the bench seats. This doesn’t convert to a spare double, however could easily be modified for that purpose.
Next is the 6’10” galley, with tiled worktops, a CAN 3 burner gas hob, Thetford oven & grill, 12v Waeco fridge with icebox, Candy washing machine, and sink with a water filter on the tap. A starboard side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
The 5’1” bathroom follows, with a hip bath and shower over, Thetford cassette toilet (with new service kit and spare cassette), and a plastic wash basin with a cupboard below.
Following, the 9’1” bedroom features a 6’3” x 4’0” double berth, with storage under and cupboards over the head end. A full height single wardrobe sits beside a dresser and smaller cupboard.
Next is the engine room, with the Lister Petter PJ3 engine on proud display. This leads onto the boatmans cabin, with a fixed bench, fold down table and more storage. There is a solid fuel stove, currently for display only, but could easily be commissioned with a new flue.
Steps lead out onto the stern deck.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired system connected to 4 radiators, and hot water is via the Webasto, engine or immersion when on landline.
12v power is via 4x 130ah domestics, with a separate starter. 240v power is via the landline (with a galvanic isolator) or the 5kw hydraulic engine driven generator (although this needs an additional regulator to maintain output). There is also 300w of solar, with an Epever solar charge controller.
Lighting onboard is LED throughout.
She has been in the same hands since new, and this is a very reluctant sale indeed. She really is ready to turn the key and go!
