57' 0" Trad 2011 Tim Tyler/William Piper/Oakcraft Narrowboats
Theodoric is a stunning 57’ traditional stern narrowboat, built by Tim Tyler in 2011, and fitted out by William Piper Narrowboats and refitted by Jim Birch of Oakcraft Narrowboats. She has been blacked, and the paintwork touched up and polished, all in September and October 2025 ready for sale.
She is solid oak and beautiful reclaimed elm throughout and the paint on the ceiling & cabin sides is Farrow & Ball. The solid oak flooring has been polished throughout prior to listing as well. You will wait a while to see another boat with such character and charm as this.
The 5’6” cratch covered well deck features a single & double demountable table, and also turns into a guest summer bedroom for one or a cosy two.
Steps lead down into the 6’6” forward cabin, featuring dinette benches either side (converting to a spare double when needed), and offers a sort of second sitting room away from the saloon.
The 7’1” galley follows. Plenty of storage space in here and the cupboards have LED lights in which activate on opening. The Heritage aga-type stove is diesel fired, and as well as for cooking, it heats the central heating and the hot water. There is also a Candy fridge with icebox, and a Beko slimline dishwasher. The pigeon box offers additional light, as does the side hatch over the Belfast sink.
Next is the 9’8” saloon, which is an exceptionally beautiful room. Here is a single armchair (which could easily be replaced with a sofa, or captains chairs), a Hobbit solid fuel stove, and some shelves and a cupboard for storage.
The 6’10” bathroom features a custom built quadrant shower, ceramic wash basin & oak vanity unit. There is a copper piped towel rail in here, and the loo is an electric macerating pump out. A Zanussi washing machine is also housed behind the shower.
The bedroom follows, and has a two poster double bed (6’0” x 4’0”) with an oak wardrobe and chest of drawers at the foot. Two side hatches with inner glazed doors provide additional light and fresh air.
Steps lead into the engine room, with the Vetus M417 engine housed below. There is also additional storage, and the boat electrics here too. Another step leads out on the trad stern deck.
12v power is provided by 4x 115ah domestics, with a separate starter. 240v power is via the Victron 3kw Multiplus inverter/charger, or landline (with a galvanic isolator). Two flexible solar panels help keep things topped up, with an Epever MPPT solar charge controller.
Hot water is provided by the range, engine, or immersion.
An amazing opportunity to acquire a truly individual boat.
