Mac Mac

MacMac is a charming and super cosy 58’ Semi Traditional narrowboat built in 2003 by Midland Canal Centre and fitted out by John Holmes. She has been well looked after and is in nice condition both inside and out. She was repainted in 2025 and the pram hood and cratch cover were new in 2023. She was last blacked in October 2023.
She had a full survey in June 2020, available for inspection in the office.
The pram covered semi trad cockpit is a good size and good social space for cruising. There is a bench seat / storage on the port side and the engine sits under the deck boards in a clean engine room. It is a Barrus Shire 45 with only 728 hours on the clock.
Steps lead into the bedroom. This is a generous size at nearly 10’ long and has a double cross bed (storage underneath), a couple of wardrobes and further storage. The windows in here are opening portholes.
A door leads into a corridor off which sits the bathroom. The loo is a Thetford Porta Potti, the basin is ceramic and the tiled shower cubicle is a good size at 2’4” square with a curtain.
The dinette area is next. This has storage under and also serves as a spare single / very cosy double berth at 6’6”x3’. There are shelves over and a bank of small drawers.
Moving forward into the galley. This is 7’5” long and has a stainless steel sink, a 230v fridge & freezer (there is 12v wiring if prefered), a four burner gas hob, oven & grill and plenty of storage. There would be room for a washing machine at the forward end of the galley (under the table) if needed with power and water close. A side hatch on the starboard side (with roof hatch) adds light and air.
The saloon is 10’6” long and has a comfy sofa (single berth if needed), a 23” TV, a 4G WIFI router and a solid fuel stove. There are cupboards either side of the steps, which also have storage under.
The steps lead into the cratch covered well deck. This has bench seats / lockers either side and the 600 litre integral water tank is under. The cratch cover has both clear and black out panels, and the forward panel unzips for easy access to the gas locker.
She is centrally heated by an Alde gas boiler, and all the windows (apart from the portholes) are double glazed. Hot water is heated by the engine, the Alde or an immersion heater.
12v is from the bank of 3x160ah leisure batteries and 230v is from either landline or the 1600kva inverter. All the lights (including under gunwhale lights) are LED. She also has 620w of solar panels to charge the batteries.
She is a really cosy boat. She is tried and tested as a liveabord having been home to her current owners for the last six years, and is ready for immediate occupation.
