52' 0" Traditional 2007 Jonathan Wilson/Original Owner
Alice May is a proper boat! She is a traditional stern narrowboat built in 2007 by the highly regarded Jonathan Wilson and fitted out by the original owner. The current owner is only her second owner and she has been well loved and looked after.
The paintwork is in good condition, and in 2023 she was grit blasted, zinc coated and epoxy 2 packed, including the baseplate. This has a 10 year warranty, so 7 years left. She had a full survey in May 2023 (copy available in the office).
The well deck is a good size at 5’2” and the stainless steel water tank is under (635 litres). The two gas bottles are in the forward locker.
Steps lead into the saloon. This is 11’4” long and has an armchair, and a fixed three seater couch which can be used as a single berth. There is storage under. There is a solid fuel stove and a drop down table on the starboard side. Next to the steps is a 16” 12v TV.
The galley is just short of 6’ long and has a stainless steel sink with drainer, a 12v fridge with icebox, and a four burner gas hob, oven & grill. There is plenty of storage in the various cupboards and the drawer.
A corridor leads to the bathroom which houses a quadrant shoer, a Thetford Porta Potti loo (brand new) and a ceramic wash basin with storage under.
The engine room has side hatches both sides and houses the Petter PH2W engine, recently serviced in April 2026. The bank of batteries (3x110ah) are in here (they service both domestic and starter supply) as is the 250va inverter.
The bedroom is in the aft cabin. The fixed double measures 6’2”x4” and has storage under. At the foot of the bed is a shelf and a cupboard with a drop down table There is a small bench seat on the starboard side, and on the port side by the steps is a Premier solid fuel stove. These steps lead up to the stern deck.
Hot water on the boat is heated by the engine or an immersion heater (when on landline). The batteries are topped up by 150w of solar with a Victron MPPT charge controller, and there is landline hook up for 230v in addition to the inverter. All the lights are LED.
The bus style windows are double glazed.
Alice May is a lovely, straightforward well built boat. She will make a lovely home or holiday boat and is ready for immediate occupation.
