53' 1" Trad 1997 Reeves/Kingsground Narrowboats
Jacob is a 53’ 1” traditional stern narrowboat built in 1997 by Reeves, and fitted out originally by Kingsground Narrowboats, with a modern refresh by the current owners.
She had a hull survey in July 2022, and was last blacked in June 2025, as well as a full repaint by the owner last year too.
The cratch covered well deck is 3’6” with storage lockers either side, and a glazed cratch board. The 250L stainless steel water tank is housed below, along with additional storage.
Steps lead down, through glazed forward doors, into the 10’8” saloon. Here is a 2 part sofa bed, which can be positioned in an L-shape (as photographed) or as two benches (as per the layout plan). A Villager multi fuel stove, 12v TV, and a range of cupboards and shelves for storage are also here.
Next is the 9’4” galley, mostly along the port side, with laminate work tops, a 3 burner gas hob, composite sink, 240v Hoover fridge with icebox, an air fryer, and plenty of cupboards and drawers. There is also under floor wine storage! A 2 stool breakfast bar sits opposite on the starboard side, with side doors which bring in additional light and fresh air.
The 8’6” bedroom follows, with a 6’3” x 4’0” fixed double berth, storage under and cupboards over, as well as 2 single pull out cupboards for clothes storage.
Next is the 5’8” bathroom, with a square shower cubicle (curtain across), Simploo composting loo, and a ceramic wash basin over a cupboard.
A bonus utility room sits at the aft, with a full sized Logic washing machine, more drawers and another cupboard. With minor modifications this could easily become a spare room, or home office.
Steps lead out into the engine room, with the Beta 43 engine housed below. This was serviced in April 2026. Another step leads out onto the trad deck.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired system connected to 4 radiators, and hot water is via the Webasto and the engine.
12v power is supplied by 4x 110ah domestics, with a separate starter, topped up by 600w of solar with a Victron MPPT solar charge controller. 240v power is via a Mastervolt 2kw inverter, or landline. A Waeco battery charger and galvanic isolator are also installed.
Lighting on board is LED throughout.
She feels light and modern throughout, and is ready for immediate use.
