Effie May Semi-cruiser 2012 Orchard Marine

Effie May is a lovely 57’ go-anywhere reverse layout semi-cruiser built in 2012 by Orchard Marine. She has been superbly looked after, with 3 coats of blacking in Summer 2023, and an engine service in September 2024. A full survey was carried out in September 2024, with a summary available for viewing in the office. The full report can be purchased from the surveyor if required.

The external paintwork is in good condition, and internally she is fitted out in American white ash with ash trim (painted above the gunnels), with  wood effect laminate flooring throughout.

The stern deck is almost a semi-cruiser with cushioned seats either side, pram hood over, and theres even room for a demountable table. The Canaline 42 engine is housed below in a spotless engine bay.

Steps lead down into the 14’0” saloon. Here there are 2x reclining chairs, AX multifuel stove, 45” TV, and a range of shelves and drawers. There is space to swap out the chairs for a comfy sofa bed if required. A 12v freezer is also housed near the rear steps, and access to the Zanussi washing machine is provide under the galley counter.

The 8’4” galley is next, with Cornish granite worktops, 12v Shoreline fridge (with icebox), Thetford Midi Prima gas oven & grill, 4 burner gas hob, and a microwave oven. Cupboards either side and an under floor wine cooler provide plenty of storage options. A port side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.

The walkthrough bathroom (6’0”) follows, with a Dometic cassette loo with china bowl, ceramic counter sunk sink, and quadrant shower.

The bedroom is at the front of the boat, and is large at 12’0”. The 6’2”x 5’0” cross bed has storage space under, with 2 wardrobes and a range of other storage options as well. A 35” TV is also mounted to the bulkhead.

Steps lead out through glazed forward doors onto the cratch covered well deck, with lockers either side. Access to the Vetus 55kgf bowthruster is from here. As the gas bottles are stored on the stern deck, the bow locker provides additional storage space as well.

12v power is supplied by 400ah Lithium domestics (self controlled with temperature sensors), topped up by approximately 1000w of solar, plus 1 starter and 2 bowthruster batteries. 230v power is supplied by a 2.5kw Sterling inverter/charger or landline. The Victron MPPT solar charge controllers, Victron Smart Shunt, and Victron Smart Sense all connect via bluetooth to the Victron Connect App.

The lighting is LED throughout.

She is centrally heated by a Webasto Thermo Top C diesel fired system, connected to 2 radiators and a towel rail, and hot water is supplied by the engine, Webasto or immersion heater when on landline.

Effie May is stunning inside and out, and is fitted with everything you need for liveaboard life or extended cruising.
