Xcaret – 61′ 7″ Trad Stern 2007 Steve Hudson
Xcaret is an excellent example of Steve Hudsons craftsmanship. She is a 61’ 7” traditional stern narrowboat built in 2007, with the appearance of a traditional boat from the outside, with light modern oak features within. She was last blacked in 2021 with 2pk epoxy, and the base plate received 4 coats of 2pk in 2019.
The cratch covered well deck features lockers either side, with padded seat cushions, and a fold down table.
Steps lead into the 10’9” saloon. Here there is a large sofa bed, Morso Squirrel stove, and a range of cupboards and shelves for storage.
A pullman dinette follows, with a drawer and storage under, and easily converts to a spare double if needed.
The 8’1” galley is next, with a 12v Shoreline fridge, Vanette 4000/2 4 burner gas hob, Vanette GG7000 oven & grill, microwave, and a range of cupboards. A starboard side hatch and houdini over bring in additional light and fresh air.
The off-corridor bathroom is 6’0”, with a square shower enclosure, Thetford cassette loo (with 3 cassettes) and a ceramic basin over a cupboard.
Next is the 9’0” bedroom. The 6’1” x 4’6” double berth cross bed has drawers under, and storage is provided by a large wardrobe and series of smaller cupboards. A portable spin dryer is also stored here.
Steps lead into the 4’5” engine room, with the Beta 43 engine housed below. The engine bay has been repainted yearly for the past 5 years, and you really could eat your dinner off of it! Navigation is also aided by a Nobles 9hp bowthruster. Another step leads out onto the trad stern deck.
She has recently had a new central heating system installed (2022). The Eberspacher diesel fired system connects to 4 radiators, and hot water is provided by the Eberspacher and engine.
12v power is provided by 4x 110ah domestics, with separate starter and bowthruster batteries. 240v power is via a Mastervolt 2kw inverter/charger, and landline.
Lighting onboard is LED throughout.
She is a Hudson through and through, and will make somebody a lovely liveaboard home in style.
