Tilly Rose – 57’4″ Trad (Reverse Layout) 2002 Reeves/Kingsground
Tilly Rose is a charming 57’ 4” traditional stern narrowboat built in 2002 by Kingsground Narrowboats, on a Reeves hull. She was originally commissioned by a nuclear submarine captain, with an unusual reverse layout to make it easier for his dogs. She was last blacked in Spring 2022, with 6 anodes fitted, and has been well prepared for sale.
She is fitted out with oak faced ply with oak and sapele trim to the ceiling and cabin sides. The hull sides are carpeted throughout, to match the flooring (with tiles in the galley).
A step leads down from the stern deck through a wide back hatch into the engine room. The Beta 35 engine is housed below, last serviced in summer 2022. Navigation is aided by a Vetus 75kgf bowthruster (NEW 2022).
More steps lead down into the 8’8” galley. Here there is a 12v Shoreline fridge with icebox, Vanette oven & grill, Vanette 4 burner gas hob, Goodmans microwave, stainless steel sink, and plenty of cupboards, shelves and drawers for storage.
The 6’3” dinette follows, with storage under. This can extend out into the corridor, to comfortably seat 6, and converts to a spare double when needed. A starboard side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air, with an acrylic side screen to protect from the elements.
Next is the 10’9” saloon. There are 2 captains chairs with matching footstools, a Puffin solid fuel stove, Toshiba 240v 24” TV, and a couple of cupboards and shelves for storage.
The walkthrough bathroom (6’3”) features a square shower tray with tiled surround, ceramic wash basin, and a Jabsco pumpout loo. A houdini hatch over brings in additional light too!
Following, the 8’3” bedroom features a fixed 6’0” x 4’0” double berth (extends to 4’6”) with storage under and a cupboard over. A single wardrobe sits by the forward doors, with storage under the forward steps too.
Stepping out, the well deck is covered by a cratch cover, with a glazed cratch board. Lockers either side provide storage and external seating.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired system (NEW 2022) connected to 3 radiators and a towel rail. Hot water is via the Webasto, engine or immersion.
Lighting is a mix of LED and halogen.
12v power is via 4x 100ah domestic batteries, with a separate starter and bowthruster supply. 240v power is via a Victron 1.3kw inverter/charger or landline.
With her unique layout and traditional feel, she will surely make somebody a beautiful liveaboard home.
