Thursdays Child – 35′ Cruiser 1989 JD Marine/Owner Fit Out

Thursday’s Child is a delightful 35’ cruiser stern narrowboat, built in 1989 by JD Marine. She has undergone a complete refit internally by her current owner, and they have really maximised the space available.
The cruiser stern deck features a large wrap around bench seat, ideal for perching on whilst cruising. The Vetus M310 3 cylinder engine is housed below, which was serviced last in March 2022.
Steps lead down into the open plan interior, starting with the saloon. This 6’2” cabin features a wardrobe space for hanging coats, shelves, folding table, and 2 comfortable armchairs.
The 4’0” bathroom is accessed from here as well. Built in a wet room style, there is a square shower tray, with acrylic wall panels, and a Dometic pump out loo.
Walking back through the boat, the 7’0” galley is next. This features a Stateman Legacy 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, 12v Dometic fridge with icebox, stainless steel sink, and a huge amount of storage space.
A kingsize bed sits at the forward of the boat (6’4” x 5’0”) with drawers and extra storage under. At the foot of the bed is a 24” Cello TV/DVD combo with Cello soundbar.
Doors lead out onto the 3’6” well deck, with access to the gas locker in the bows. Theres plenty of room for two folding chairs out here if alfresco dining is what you’re after.
Althougth there is no central heating currently on board, an ideal solution would be a mid-ship stove. Hot water is provided via a Rinnai gas instant water heater.
12v power is supplied by 2x 115ah domestics, with a separate starter, topped up by 300w of solar with an MPPT controller. 240v power can be obtained by a 2kw Carrybatt inverter, and separate 300w inverter.
Lighting onboard is LED throughout.
She was last blacked in March 2021, and a survey from May 2019 is available for viewing in the office.
Just like the nursery rhyme, Thursday’s Child has far to go! She is so well laid out that she could make a lovely floating home, and is ideal for extended cruising.
