The Barocha – 57′ Cruiser 2011 Kingsground / Alexander hull
The Barocha is an amazing 57’ cruiser stern narrowboat, superbly fitted out by Kingsground on an Alexander shell in 2011. She has been in the hands of the same caring owners since launch. Kingsground do a stunning job, and The Barocha is no exception.
The cratch covered well deck (with glazed board and 600 litre water tank under) leads into the saloon. The layout is unusual but fabulous, with the dinette forward. This converts into a spare double berth, has storage under, and the aft bench seat reverses to make a saloon facing sofa. Very clever.
The saloon is super cosy and has a Lockgate diesel stove (independent tank in well deck), 2 comfy armchairs and a wall mounted TV/DVD in a cabinet. There is a houdini hatch over.
The galley is a walk through arrangement offering a 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill (extractor over), 12v fridge with icebox, and a vast amount of storage. A houdini hatch and two side hatches (with weather & fly screens) add light and air.
The walk through bathroom follows; very stylish with a quadrant shower, pump out loo, counter sunk ceramic sink and a heated towel rail. A good sized linen storage area sits between the shower and the cabin sides.
The fixed double bedroom is towards the stern. The bed is 6’x4’ (extends to 4’6” wide) and has storage both under, and in cupboards over. A huge wardrobe (with three access points) is at the foot of the bed.
The rear cabin is a bit of a utility area, with the washing / drying machine, an abundance of storage and the electrics. There is also a separate 12v freezer easily accessed in a starboard side cupboard.
She is very highly equipped; she is centrally heated by a diesel fired Hurricane boiler (and the engine heats the rads also); there is an air cooler in the saloon which can reduce the temperature by 2 degrees in summer, she has 160w solar panels, she has a 3kw Victron inverter, a galvanic isolator, hot water is from engine, Hurricane or an immersion heater, and all the lighting is LED. The water tank is stainless steel. The battery bank is large (7 in total).
She is propelled by a well maintained Beta 43 a squeaky clean engine room, with navigation assisted by the Vetus bowthruster.
She was blacked every year until 2018 when she was shot blasted and epoxy 2 packed.
She offers a vast amount of storage and space and is ready to move into for an incredibly comfortable home or holiday boat.
