Somewhere Else – 60′ Trad Stern 2012 Stoke-on-Trent Narrowboats
Somewhere Else is a stunning 60’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 2012 by Stoke-on-Trent Narrowboat, and has been superbly maintained by her current owners, looking and feeling like a new boat.
She is fitted out in a mix of ash faced ply, and ash T&G, and benefits from blacking in August 2021. The external paintwork was redone in November 2021, and is in excellent condition.
The well deck is covered by a new cratch cover, with the spare onboard for winter months, and wrap around padded seats with lockable storage. A traditional fold down table makes for suitable al-fresco dining.
Steps lead into the 11’6” saloon, with 2 captains chairs with matching foot stools, a coffee table, Morso solid fuel stove, 32” Samsung smart TV, and a range of cupboards and shelves for storage.
The fully equipped galley follows (8’4”) with granite worktops. There is a 24v Shoreline fridge, Bosch slimline dishwasher, Hoover washing machine, Neff 4 burner gas hob, Belling double oven & grill, and a 12v Engle chest freezer. A starboard side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
Next is the dinette, which converts to a spare 6’3” x 4’0” double berth when required, with storage under and cupboards over.
An airing cupboard sits between the dinette and the bathroom, which could be used as an additional wardrobe.
The off-corridor bathroom (7’6”) features a Vetus pumpout loo, ceramic countersunk wash basin, and a square shower enclosure with vinyl surround. More storage is provided via a range of shelves and cupboards.
The 10’ bedroom features a 6’6” x 4’6” double berth with storage under and cupboards over. A double wardrobe and single wardrobe sit either side of the aft door.
Steps lead through the engine room, with the Beta 43 engine housed below. This was serviced in March 2022. Another step leads out onto the stern deck.
She is centrally heated by a Mikuni diesel fired system connected to 2 radiators, a heated towel rail and finrads. Hot water is via the Mikuni, engine or immersion.
There are 4x 200ah AGM domestics, 1x 90ah AGM starter and 2x 110ah AGM batteries for the Vetus 75kgf bowthruster. 240v power is via the Victron Phoenix Multiplus 3kw 24v inverter/charger, a Dometic 3.5kva Travelpower generator and landline.
The lighting onboard is LED, on dimmable switches.
We often say it, but she truely is ready for immediate occupation! There is so much storage, all of the gadgets and a beautiful paint job… she wont be around for long!
