Skippy – 30’0″ Cruiser Stern 1975 Unknown/Owner Fit Out
Skippy is a really sweet 30’ cruiser stern narrowboat built in 1975. The builder is unknown, and the fit out is by her current owner.
She was last out of the water in 2016 when she was surveyed, over-plated, and blacked.
The stern deck, covered by a very good sized pramhood, is large at 7’ 6”. This offers a good outside space for cruising or socialising. The Ford 1.8 litre engine (recently serviced) sits under the deckboards.
Steps lead down into the rear of the boat. The galley is on the port side. The sink is stainless steel with storage underneath. Next to the sink is a space which is where the cooker goes. It has been removed as it was broken but it was a Vanette 2 burner gas hob with a grill and an oven. Next to this space is a Dometic 3 way fridge.
Opposite the galley area is the bathroom. This has a Porta Potti Royal loo and a tiled and curtained shower cubicle.
The forward half of the boat is the living area. There is a solid fuel stove which is more than capable of heating a boat of this size, some storage shelves with a TV/DVD combo on, and a two seater futon. This turns into a double bed. There is also a folding table for dining.
Against the forward bulkhead is a fixed couch seat with storage under.
The water tank is in the bows and is stainless steel with a 250 litre capacity. Hot water is heated by the engine, but the calorifier is twin coil so a diesel boiler could be fitted.
12v on board is supplied by one domestic battery and one starter, and the 1000w inverter supplies the 230v. The lights are LED.
She was last painted in 2020.
Skippy is a lovely little boat, full of charm and personality.
