Santiago – 58′ 6″ Trad Stern 2014 Tim Tyler/Braidbar
Santiago is a stunning 58’ 6” traditional stern narrowboat built in 2014 by Braidbar on a Tim Tyler shell. She came second at the Crick Boat Show in 2014, and she could easily still compete today!
She has been so well cared for, having been blacked in May 2022, and a full repaint by Andy Russell in Feb 2023. She is fitted out in ash tongue and groove to the cabin sides, ash faced ply to the hull sides, and oak flooring throughout.
Steps lead down from the large open well deck into the 12’0” saloon. There are 2 comfortable ‘Stressless’ arm chairs with matching footstools, a Portway solid fuel stove, 12v Cello 22” TV/DVD combo, Sony CD radio, a series of shelves and a cupboard for storage.
Next is the 8’6” galley, featuring a Zanussi Aquacycle washing machine, Belling 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, 12v Shoreline fridge with icebox, granite and oak worktops, and plenty of cupboards and drawers. A starboard side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
The dinette follows, and easily converts to a spare berth when needed. The boat takes her name from the Route of Santiago, St James, in Spain, and features paintings of the route over the dinette.
The 6’3” bathroom is next, with a large corner quadrant shower, Sanimarin pumpout loo, and circular ceramic counter top wash basin.
Following this, the bedroom is large at 9’6” with a fixed 6’4” x 4’0” double berth which can extend to 5’0” wide. With a wardrobe, drawers, and cupboards over the bed, this cabin features lots of storage options.
Stepping up into the engine room, the Beta Marine B43 engine is housed below (due to be serviced prior to sale). Steps lead out onto the stern deck.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto Thermo Top C diesel fired boiler, connected to 4 radiators and a towel rail. Hot water is via the Webasto, engine or immersion when on landline.
12v power is via the bank of 4x 110ah domestics, topped up by 160w of solar, with a separate starter. 240v power is via a Mastervolt MassCombi 2500kva inverter/charger.
Lighting on board is LED throughout.
If walking the Santiago route isn’t your thing, then maybe taking the journey by canal might suit you better!
