Powys – 62′ Cruiser 1996 Pinder/Black Prince
Powys is a charming 62” cruiser stern narrowboat originally built as part of the Black Prince hire fleet, on a Pinder hull. She was fully repainted in 2015, with the paintwork still in reasonable condition, and was last blacked in September 2023. A survey from July 2023 is available for viewing in the office.
The well deck features a cratch board with folding table, and a storage locker on the starboard side, which doubles up as an external seat.
Steps lead down through the portside off-centre door, into the large 15’3” saloon. Here there is a large sofa bed (with storage under), gateleg table with 6 stackable chairs, and a range of cupboards, drawers and shelves for storage. Hidden behind a cupboard, on a swivel out hinge, is a Cello 18” 12v Tv/Dvd combo.
The 5’4” galley is typical of Black Prince boats, featuring a 12v fridge, Bompani oven with 4 burner gas hob, stainless steel sink, and more storage.
Next is the main bedroom (9’0”), with a fixed 6’3” x 4’0” double berth, single and double wardrobe, and a range of shelves for storage.
The 6’1” bathroom features a shower over a hip bath, Tecma macerator pumpout loo (holding tank under main bed), ceramic wall mounted sink, and a large cupboard over the calorifier tank for storage.
The stern cabin has 2 single berths (6’3” x 2’2”), which can be pushed together to form one double if required. With drawers under, shelves over, and cupboards at the aft end there is plenty of storage.
Steps lead out onto the cruiser stern deck. The Kubota D1703 engine is housed below, which was installed in 2000, and was last serviced approximately 160 cruising hours ago. There are spare filters, oil and fan belts on board to keep up with any maintenance.
She is centrally heated by an Alde 2829 gas boiler connected to 3 radiators. Hot water is via the Alde, engine, or a plug in immersion.
A bank of 3x 110ah domestic batteries provide 12v power to the boat, topped up by 160w of solar with a Victon charge controller, and a separate 115ah starter. An 800w Nikkai inverter can be used to obtained 240v power by directly plugging into the unit.
Lighting onboard is mostly LED.
She would make an ideal liveabord family home, with plenty of room for guests too!
