Ploddin’ Along is a charming 60’ reverse layout semi-trad stern narrowboat built in 2012 by Aqualine and superbly fitted out by Midland Canal Centre. This is a reluctant sale of a very well cared for boat.
The semi-trad deck features lockers either side, with room to comfortably seat 3. The Beta 43 engine is housed below, with a hospital silencer. This was last serviced in September 2023, and comes with a full service history. Navigation is aided by a Side Power bowthruster. The rear deck also has a tonneau cover for winter protection.
Steps lead down into the galley. This is well equipped with a Belling 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, a good sized stainless steel sink, a washing machine, a large fridge, a separate freezer and plenty of storage.
Next is the L-shaped dinette. This has a large demountable dining table, or a smaller round table. There is storage underneath and it converts into a spare double berth. A side hatch (with glazed inner doors) is opposite.
The saloon follows has has a 3 seater sofabed (storage under) which sits opposite a 32” TV (with Bluray and surround sound). The TV is surrounded by shelves & a small cupboard. At the forward end is a Morso solid fuel stove which has a floor to ceiling cupboard next to it. There is under gunwale mood lighting in here as well.
The walk through bathroom is typically Aqualine with the frosted glass doors, ceramic basin and frosted glass corner shower. The loo is a macerator pump out. There is a heated towel rail also.
The bedroom is in the forward cabin. The 6’3” fixed double extends to 4’6 and has storage under. There are cupboards over the bed and at the foot of the bed is a double wardrobe. On the starboard side of the steps sits a little cupboard with a drawer, and there is storage under the step. There is also under gunwale mood lighting in here.
She was last blacked in Dec 2020 and the hull has been ‘zingered’. The water tank is stainless steel and she is centrally heated through finrads by an Alde Compact boiler. Hot water is heated by the engine, the Alde or an immersion heater. The engine also heats the fin rads when the pump is turned on.
12v is from the 600ah bank of domestic batteries (new March 2023) and 230v is from landline or the 3kw Victron inverter/charger. All the lights are LED and she has 720w of solar.
She is a lovely boat, well loved and ready to go.
