Pipers Fancy No. 3 is a delightful 55’ trad stern narrowboat, with a wide stern hatch and Josher bows. She was built in 2006 by Jonathan Wilson, and fitted out by Anthony M in oak faced ply with oak trim throughout the boat.
She has been in the same hands since new, and is well looked after, benefiting from a blacking in 2021 and the engine has been serviced regularly according to the manufactures schedule (last time in September 2021).
The cratch cover was new in 2019, covering the 4’4” well deck. Steps lead into the 14’0” saloon, with a large 3 seater sofa bed (converts to spare double), Valor Willow multifuel stove, gateleg table, single chair, 230v TV, and a range of storage options. A port side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
Next is the 8’4” galley, with solid beech worktops, 12v fridge with icebox, Vanette oven & grill, Vanette 4 burner gas hob, microwave, toaster and even an electric kettle! Storage is provided by plenty of cupboards, drawers and shelves.
The 6’4” bathroom follows, with a Thetford cassette (with 2 spares), ceramic basin over vanity unit, and tiled surround shower. A tall coat cupboard sits in the corridor between the bathroom and bedroom.
The bedroom is 8’9”, with a fixed 6’3” x 4’0” double berth, storage under, and shelved wardrobe at the stern end.
Steps lead into the engine room, with the Beta 43 engine housed below. A cupboard and under step storage provide additional space.
12v power is provided by a bank of 3x 110ah domestics, with separate starter, and 230v power is supplied by a Ring Powering 2100w inverter. A landline hookup, galvanic isolator, and Victron battery charger help keep everything topped up.
Lighting is LED throughout.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired system connected to 3 radiators and a heated towel rail, and hot water is supplied by the engine or immersion.
