Perriman is a very nicely presented 59’ cruiser stern narrowboat built in 1990 by Colecraft. In 2012/13 she was completely stripped out and refitted, including the addition of spray foam insulation, by the highly regarded Jim Birch. The sides and the baseplate were overplated at the same time. Then, in 2018, she had a full repaint.
The well deck has seats either side and the stainless steel water tank is under. Steps (with storage under) lead into the saloon. This is a really cosy room with a couple of wingback armchairs opposite a wall mounted TV / DVD, a solid fuel Villager stove, a cupboard, and a CD/radio (with speakers in saloon & bedroom).
Adjoining the saloon is the L shaped dinette area. This provides a dining area and also converts into a spare double berth. There is storage underneath.
The galley is next. This is spacious at over 10’ and utilities comprise of a four burner gas hob, an eye level grill and oven, a larder fridge (new Sep 2023), a slimline dishwasher, a lovely Belfast sink and a six bottle wine rack.
I like the bathroom arrangement. There is a separate “smallest room” for the cassette loo, and next to it is a separate wet room for the shower and ceramic washbasin. There is a side hatch opposite.
The bedroom is in the aft cabin. There is a fixed double bed (6’1”x4’6”) with loads of storage underneath. The base board is on gas strutts for easy access. At the head of the bed is a half height wardrobe, and under that another cupboard. At the foot of the bed is the cupboard with the electrics in, and under that a cupboard with the washing machine.
Steps lead up to the spacious rear deck.
She is propelled by a Beta 43 (new in 2015) and 12v comes from the bank of 3x 130ah domestic batteries. 230v is from either the landline (front & rear hook up) or the 3kw Victron inverter. All the lights are LED.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired boiler and the hot water is heated by the engine, the Webasto or an immersion heater.
She is a lovely boat and will make somebody a really beautiful home.
