Nereus is a beautiful 62’ Trad style narrowboat built by the highly regarded Steve Hudson in 2011. The traditional lines, josher style bow, and replica rivets are just some of the hallmarks which make his boats so sought after.
She handles very comfortably, powered by the JD3 tug engine (with only 270 hours on it) and assisted by the Nobel bowthruster.
The well deck is a good size at 6’ and has a drop down table and two benches with storage under. This leads into the saloon. The fit out is first class, and finished in oak T&G, oak faced ply and solid oak trim. There is a solid fuel stove in here, TV, cupboards and shelves a-plenty and a light prism in the roof. The L shaped dinette has two demountable tables and this makes up into an additional double berth.
The galley is 6’7” long and has a 12v fridge, stainless steel sink, gas hob, oven and grill, and a microwave. A side hatch is on the starboard side (with a set of glass doors) and there is a houdini hatch over.
The fixed 6’6” x 4’0” double berth sits midships in a lovely room complimented by a single wardrobe and ample additional storage options.
The bathroom is off corridor on the port side and offers plenty of space. There is a good sized tiled shower cubicle, a large ceramic sink, a heated towel rail and a Thetford cassette loo (with two spare cassettes).
The engine room is next, housing the Beta JD3 tug, the battery bank, the 3.5kw Travelpower generator and the Mastervolt 2.5kw inverter. There are two side hatches in here also. The traditional back cabin is the last room and oozes a wonderful feel of the past. Beautifully scumbled she has the traditional crossbed offering another double berth, the drop down table, and another solid fuel stove – a real comfort to the winter helmsman. On the aft deck are a pair of comfortable tractor style seats.
She is centrally heated and hot water is from either the engine, Hurricane or immersion.
She benefits from blacking, x6 new anodes and a FULL SURVEY in late March 2021.
Nereus is a wonderful craft and ready for immediate occupation.
