Mr Blue Sky is a stunning example of an exceptionally well looked after narrowboat, and no-one would guess her age correctly on a blind viewing. Built in 2008 on a Reeves shell and fitted out by Prestige Narrowboats, you would be forgiven for thinking that she was only a couple of years old. Externally she is immaculate having been re-painted in 2018, and internally she is pristine as well.
She is reverse layout, so from the large 7’ cruiser stern you enter the 10’ 2” galley housing a 3 burner gas hob, 230v fridge, a large oven, and lots of storage under the granite work surfaces.
The dinette follows. This has a side hatch next to it and makes up into a double berth. The table also extends to full width for comfortable dining for six people.
The spacious saloon is next and home to two very comfortable reclining leather chairs (with footstools) and the Home Theatre media centre sits in the cupboard under the 32” TV.
A door leads into the spare bedroom. This currently has two bunk beds in, but could easily become an office, nursery or whatever you wish.
The luxurious walkthrough bathroom is the next cabin. A lovely circular ceramic basin sits on a cupboard next to the pump out loo, and a good sized quadrant shower is in the corner.
The main bedroom is in the forward cabin with a 6’4” fixed double (storage under) a chest of drawers and a large double wardrobe.
She is beautifully fitted out in oak faced ply with solid oak trim and oak furniture.
Propulsion, assisted by the Vetus bowthruster, is from the 42hp Izusu. Central heating is provided by the Webasto (new 2021) heating 4 radiators and a towel rail. On board 230v is from the 3kw inverter or landline, and 12v is from the bank of 5 domestic batteries (new 2022). Lighting is LED, and she is equipped with an Isolation Transformer. Hot water is from the engine, the central heating or an immersion heater.
She benefits from a full survey in 2019 and has just (May 2023) been blacked.
She is a wonderful boat. At 65’, she offers space and storage a-plenty and is ready for a family to either live on or cruise on.
