Millettia Laurentii is a stunning 59’ cruiser stern narrowboat, a bespoke build in 2011 by JD Narrowboats. She displays unique craftsmanship of the highest quality. She has been in the same hands since build and has been very well looked after. The fit out is superb, with Sycamore and Wenge wood from the Congo, and she has a full re-paint in 2020.
She is reverse layout, so we will start at the back.
The stern deck is 7’ long and the Beta 43 (only 409 hours) sits under. The deck is surrounded by beautiful Wenge benches and has a stunning Wenge demountable dining table. There is a tonneau cover for the rear deck. Beautiful steps lead into the large saloon.
This has a Lockgate diesel stove, a large 3 seater Elite sofabed, and beautifully crafted cupboards down the port side, one housing the electrically raised 25” TV (with self seeking satellite, freesat & DVD). A HiFi puts music through speakers in the ceiling. Towards the galley, there is an electrically operated hatch in the floor where the drinks chiller is.
The breakfast bar (with glazed side hatch) and work tops in the galley are all solid Wenge. The galley is over 12’ long and utilities comprise of a stainless steel sink and drainer, Microwave, eyelevel oven & grill, and a 230v fridge (with icebox). There is a four burner gas hob, and a very neatly concealed 11 bottle wine rack. There is a huge amount of storage space in the cupboards, many with beautifully curved doors.
The walk through bathroom is next. The loo is a pumpout, the basin is ceramic and the shower cubicle is one of the biggest I have seen on a narrowboat. There is an extractor fan over, and lights in the shower.
The bedroom is in the forward cabin. The bed is a crossbed, there are two large wardrobes, a locker either side of the bed and cupboards over the bed. A wall mounted TV/DVD sits at the foot of the bed, and the bungs for the portholes match the bedding. Steps lead up to the well deck which does have a cratch cover. The stainless steel water tank is underneath.
She was last blacked in October 2023, and was surveyed at the same time with 2 new anodes, and the engine was serviced in the summer of 2022. She is centrally heated by a diesel fired Eberspacher system, and the hot water is heated by the engine or the Eberspacher. 230v is supplied by the 3kw Victron inverter or landline, and 12v is from the bank of five domestic batteries. All the lights are LED, including mood lights under the front & rear steps.
She handles so well, assisted by the Axiom propeller.
She is an amazing vessel, ready for immediate occupation.
