Meteor No 2 is a charming 45’ trad stern narrowboat built in 1990 by Black Country Narrowboats. She is fitted out in pine tongue and groove, and sapele faced ply with solid wood trim, and wood effect laminate flooring throughout.
The paintwork is in reasonable well polished condition, and she was last blacked in 2021, with a hull survey in August 2021, which is available for viewing in the office.
An open well deck features a raised locker, with access to the gas locker in the bows. Steps lead down through stable doors into the saloon.
The 9’2” saloon features a diesel stove, single armchair, coffee table, footstool, DVD storage and a 16” TV/DVD combo mounted on the cabin side. There is potentially room here for a sofa bed if required.
A walkthrough galley is next, and whilst compact at 4’7” it still packs in all the essentials. There is a 12v LEC fridge with icebox, stainless steel sink, Vanette oven & grill, Vanette hob, and cupboards and shelves for storage.
Next is the 9’ bedroom, with a fixed 6’2” x 4’3” double berth. A wardrobe sits towards the galley, and over bed cupboard at the foot end. There are also 3 drawers under for storage. A starboard side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
Following this, the 5’ bathroom features a rectangular shower tray with tiled surround and curtain across, ceramic wash basin and Thetford Porta Potti loo.
Steps lead up into the 4’10” engine room, with the Lister Petter engine on display. This was last serviced in 2021, with few hours cruised since.
12v power is supplied by the bank of 3x 110ah domestics, with a separate 110ah starter. A small solar panel trickle charges the starter, and an Absaar battery charger is fitted too. A 180w Victron inverter is fitted at the front of the boat, to power the TV.
Hot water is supplied by a Paloma instant gas hot water heater, and there are 2 portable oil radiators and the stove for heating.
The lighting onboard is mostly LED.
She would be ideal for weekend or extended cruises, and with a few homely touches could easily become a liveaboard home.
