Merlin Jersey is a charming 57’0” ‘go-anywhere’ semi-trad stern narrowboat built in 1996 by Midland Canal Centre. She was last blacked in June 2021, the engine was rebuilt in May 2021, and theres a survey from September 2018 available for viewing in the office.
She is fitted out in oak faced ply to the ceiling, pine T&G to the cabin sides, and sapele faced ply to the hull sides, which has been modernised by painting the cabin and hull sides from the galley forwards.
The cratch covered well deck leads into the 10’6” saloon, with a Morso Squirrel stove, a set of shelves, and plenty of space for freestanding furniture such as a sofa bed or comfy chairs.
The 6’0” dinette is next, easily seating 4 people, with storage under. This also converts to a spare double when needed.
Next is the galley (8’6”) which has been remodelled by the owner, featuring a solid oak worktop, 12v fridge, oven, hob & grill, large sink, and a range of drawers and pull-out cupboards for storage.
The 6’0” bathroom follows, with a hip bath with shower over, ceramic wash basin over vanity unit, and a Vacuflush pumpout loo. Bathroom doors are due to be fitted before sale.
Following this, the 9’4” bedroom is at the aft of the boat, with a 6’0” x 4’0” fixed bed, with storage under. A full height wardrobe sits at the aft, with potential room to install a washing machine.
Steps lead out onto the semi-trad deck, with the Lister Petter 36hp engine below. The pram hood helps keep the weather off whilst working away in the engine bay.
12v power is supplied by the bank of 2x 145ah domestics (room for 4), with a separate bowthruster and starter battery. 630w of solar, with a Victron MPPT solar charge controller, keep these topped up. 240v power is supplied by a new Sterling 1800w inverter, and a Numax battery charger.
Lighting onboard is a mix of LED and halogen.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired system, connected to 4 radiators, and hot water is supplied by the Eberspacher, engine or immersion.
