Megan – 52′ Trad 1998 R&D Fabrications / Witham Narrowboats
Megan is a beautifully looked after 1998 52’ traditional style narrowboat.
She was built by R&D Fabrications and originally fitted out by Witham Narrowboats.
She has a ‘slipper stern’, where the base plate rises either side of the engine to meet the uxter plate. This supposedly eases exit for the water making less wash and less engine power is needed.
She is in magnificent condition. She was repainted in 2015, and blacked in May 2018. There is a full survey from 2018 available in the office for inspection.
From the well deck into the 11’ saloon. A lovely room with oak to the ceilings, cabin sides & floor with carpets under the gunwales. There is a charming multifuel stove in here along with a new Klik Klak sofabed. One of the three radiators on board, heated by the diesel fired Eberspacher, is in here also.
On past a couple of small breakfast bar areas on each side into the galley which was installed in around 2017. Stylishly done with white tiles and grey laminate surfaces, the drawers are ‘soft close’, the side hatch with roof opening hatch gives a lot of light, and in amongst the usual kitchen facilities is the washer / dryer.
The bathroom follows on the port side. This houses a heated towel rail, a Dometic cassette loo with two cassettes, a good sized tiled shower cubicle and a ceramic basin along with storage cupboards.
The bedroom is next with a fixed 6’3” x 4’ double berth (storage under), a large wardrobe and additional storage on the shelves & in the cupboard.
The easily accessed Nanni engine is under the deck boards in the stern cabin.
On board power is via either the 3kw inverter or landline hookup.
A simply stunning boat, very well looked after and ready to go for immediate living or cruising.
