Margaret – 55′ Cruiser 2003 Liverpool Boats/New Boat Company
Margaret is a charming 55ft cruiser stern narrowboat built in 2003 by Liverpool Boats. She was fitted out by New Boat Company in oak faced ply with a mix of solid oak and sapele trim. She benefits from having been recently blacked (Oct 2021) and a full repaint in 2018.
Glazed stable doors lead from the cratch covered well deck (cover new 2020) in to the saloon. Large at 10’ 4”, the saloon features a Stovak Stockton multifuel stove, 2 leather Captains chairs with matching footstools, a 23” TV, DVD player, and a range of cupboards and shelves.
The pullman dinette, which converts to a spare double, provides ample space to sit and eat for 4, as well as housing clever storage in the seats and raised floor plinth.
The 7’ galley follows, separated by a ceiling hanging cupboard which can be accessed from both sides. Here there is a Spinflo 4 burner gas hob, Vanette oven & grill, 230v fridge/freezer, and plenty of cupboards, drawers and shelves. A side hatch on the starboard side adds additional light and air.
The off-corridor bathroom is next with a Tecma pumpout loo, square shower with tiled surround and curtain, and sink basin vanity unit. The corridor also houses a single full height wardrobe for hanging clothes.
The large 10’0” bedroom is at the back of the boat, with a fixed 6’3” x 3’8” double berth, drawers below and cupboard above the head end. A set of drawers, and a compact dressing table sit at the foot end. Steps lead up out on to the cruiser stern deck, with a large cupboard housed under.
The Isuzu 35hp engine is housed beneath the stern deck, which has been serviced regularly (most recently February 2022).
12v power is supplied by the bank of 3x 120ah domestics and 1x starter, topped up by a small solar panel with a solar controller. There is also a Sterling Power battery charge controller connected to 2x 60 amp alternators.
230v power is supplied by the shoreline, with a galvanic isolator fitted, as well as a Mastervolt inverter (which currently is not working).
The lighting throughout is LED, with 2 additional oil table lamps.
She is centrally heated by an Autoterm diesel fired boiler connected to 3 radiators, and hot water is from the engine only.
Margaret will make someone a wonderful new home or holiday boat.
