Mad Hatter – 62’0″ Reverse Layout Cruiser Colecraft/Russ Hubble 2009
Mad Hatter is a beautiful boat. She is a 62’ gas free reverse layout cruiser stern and was built by Colecraft and fitted out by Russ Hubble in 2009. She has been a liveaboard home for the same owners since new and is in lovely condition both inside and out.
All the proportions on this boat are generous. The stern is 8’3” long and offers great outdoor space with bench seats either side and a demountable table in between. The stern is covered by a pramhood. The engine, a Barrus Shire 40hp with hospital silencer, sits under in a very clean engine bay. Propulsion is aided by the bowthruster.
Steps lead down into the 13’4” galley. There is plenty of storage space, and utilities comprise of a Heritage Range for cooking (and heating), a larder fridge, a separate freezer, a washing machine and a sink. There is a portside side hatch.
The 19’ saloon follows. A huge room with a two seater leather sofa, a leather captains chair with footstool, a gateleg dining table with four collapsible chairs and a 32” wall mounted TV with self seeking satellite and Bose surround sound with sub woofer. The stove is a Morso Sqirrel. A second side hatch is in here at the galley end.
The bathroom is a walk though arrangement and has a quadrant tiled shower area, a macerator pump out loo, a ceramic wash basin & a heated towel rail (which is dual fuel off either the range or 230v when hooked up to landline).
The bedroom is in the forward cabin. There is a fixed full size double bed and two wardrobes at the foot of the bed. There are opening doors in the forward bulkhead for air and escape if necessary.
She is centrally heated off the diesel fired range, and hot water is heated by either the range, the engine or an immersion heater. The water tank is integral 900 litres.
On board 24v is from the bank of 6 leisure batteries and 230v is from the 3kw Victron inverter or the landline. All the lights are LED and she has 260w of solar.
She was last blacked in 2021 and the engine serviced in April 2022.
