Kestrel is a charming little cruiser stern narrowboat built in 1993 by Prestige Narrowboats. She packs a lot in to her 32’ and offers really cosy accomodation.
The stern deck is a good size and has the engine underneath. This is a Beta 25 and was brand new (as well as the gearbox) in Novemebr 2021. She only has 30 hours on the clock. The batteries are in here also, with three 110ah servicing the domestic supply and one starter. The calorifier is in here as well. When not in use the rear deck is protected from the elements by a tonneau cover.
Steps lead down into the aft cabin. This has a couple of storage / hanging areas eitherside of the steps, and a couple of opposing bench seats. These have storage underneath and converts into a double cross bed.
The bathroom area follows. This has doors either end which close the room off for privacy. The loo is a Thetford cassette, there is a circular ceramic wash basin, and on the port side there is a curtained shower area.
Next is the galley. Compact, but everything you need in here. There is a four burner gas hob, Vanette oven & grill, a 12v Shoreline fridge with an icebox, and a stainless steel sink.
The forward cabin is the main saloon. This has 2 opposing three seater bench seats with storage under. These make up into a second double berth.
A step leads up to the cratch covered well deck (the cratch cover has clear panels in). The gas bottles are in the forward locker.
She is centrally heated by an Alde gas boiler to 2 fin rads in the forward cabin. 230v is from the 800w inverter or the landline, and the water tank is integral. Hot water is heated by the engine or the Alde. All the lighting is LED.
The paintwork is still in very good condition following a repaint in 2016.
She is a really cosy boat, ready for her next adventure.
