Katmantu is a 55’ x 10’6” widebeam moored on the Thames at Lechlade Marina. She was built in 2011 by Steve Lamdon and fitted out by her original owner.
She offers a good amount of living space and a huge amount of storage.
From the covered 8’ stern deck, which houses the Beta 75 under, you descend into the galley. Generously proportioned at 10’8” utilities comprise of a 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, a ceramic sink, a microwave oven, a washing machine and the biggest fridge/freezer I’ve seen on a boat. There is also an abundance of storage space.
The saloon follows. At over 12’ long, it is good living space. There is a slide out desk under the breakfast bar and a portside side hatch. A large sofa sits opposite the solid fuel stove on the starboard side. There is also a TV aerial point.
Through a beautiful door into the bathroom. This has a large shower cubicle, a heated towel rail, a pumpout loo and a ceramic basin. A houdini hatch adds light and air.
The bedroom is in the forward cabin. The bed is a kingsize and has storage under, there are three good sized wardrobes and acres of other storage including a laundry bin.
Steps lead up into the cratch covered well deck. This has seats/lockers either side and the stainless steel water tank sits under. The forward locker in the bows houses the batteries & mechanics for the 95 kgf bowthruster.
She was last blacked in 2016 (3 coats of Bitumen) and the engine was last serviced in Nov 2019. She is centrally heated through finrads from a Hurricane diesel fired boiler and hot water is heated by the Hurricane, the engine or an immersion heater. All the lighting is LED and 12v is from the bank of 4 domestic batteries (NEW 2018). 230v is from the 3kw inverter or landline. The steering is hydraulic.
