Katalin is a charming 58’ reverse layout cruiser stern narrowboat built in 2011 by John White. She is fitted out in oak faced ply with oak trim, and oak flooring throughout the boat. She was last blacked in Summer 2020, and a survey from 2017 is available for viewing in the office.
The cruiser stern deck is 7’0” with a pram hood, wrap around taff seat, and access to the gas locker. The Beta 38 engine is housed below, which was serviced in Summer 2022.
Steps lead down into the 10’6” saloon. Here there is a 12v Shoreline fridge with icebox, New World 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, microwave, electric kettle and toaster, and heaps of storage.
An L-shaped dinette area is next, with a raised floor and demountable table. This converts to a spare double when needed. A port side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
The 10’0” saloon follows, with a sofa bed, Evergreen solid fuel stove, 32” Samsung smart TV, and shelves for storage. With the dinette so close, it would be easy to swap out the sofa bed for 2 comfortable arm chairs if required.
Next is the off-corridor bathroom (7’0”) with a comfortably sized square shower tray, with vinyl surround, Jabsco pumpout loo, and ceramic basin over vanity unit.
The 8’10” bedroom is in the forward cabin, with a fixed 6’4” x 4’0” double berth, which extends to 4’10 wide. A second smaller TV can be viewed from the bed. A single wardrobe, cupboards and under bed access provide a range of storage options.
A couple of steps lead out into the 3’9” well deck, with cratch cover over. A port side locker provides additional storage.
She is centrally heated by an Alde Compact gas boiler connected to 5 radiators. There is also a plug in electric heater for extra cold nights. Hot water is via the Alde, engine or immersion.
12v power is via the bank of 3x 105ah domestics, with a separate starter. 240v power can be obtained by the Victron 3000w inverter/charger or landline.
Lighting onboard is LED throughout.
She is ready for immediate occupation, and will make somebody a lovely floating home.
