Juno – 58’0″ Traditional 2008 Simpson’s Boats Ltd/Jonathan Wilson
Juno is a stunning 58’0” traditional stern narrowboat built in 2008 by Simpson’s Boats Ltd on a Jonathan Wilson hull. She is beautifully fitted out with cream painted ply with oak trim to the ceiling and cabin sides, oak faced ply to the hull sides and solid oak flooring throughout.
She was last blacked in May 2021 with 2pk epoxy, and the paintwork (repainted in 2021) is in very good condition.
A step from the well deck leads down in to the saloon, which is large at 11’8”. Here there is an Arrow solid fuel stove, Cello TV, 2 captains chairs, a range of shelves and a small cupboard. The dining table sits on a runner along the starboard side, and is mountable along the long or short end for convenience. A starboard side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
The galley (7’0”) features a Thetford Caprice mkIII 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, Fridgemaster 12v fridge with ice box, a range of cupboards and a pull out larder drawer.
Part of the charm of this boat is the stunning woodwork, with an arched doorway leading in to the bedroom. The 6’3” x 4’0” fixed double berth has plenty of storage space below, with a large double wardrobe at the forward end, a footstool, another little cupboard and 2 shelves.
The bathroom follows (8’2”), with a large square corner shower, ceramic counter top sink, Thetford cassette loo (with 3 cassettes) and cleverly hidden away is a Bloomberg 5kg washing machine. A second wooden archway connects the bathroom to the aft cabin.
The aft cabin has a fixed seat either side (which converts in to a spare small double), heaps of storage under the raised floor, steps and cupboards, and also houses the Barrus Shire 40hp engine (last serviced Nov 2021).
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired system connected to 3 radiators. The radiator in the stern cabin runs directly off the engine. Hot water is supplied by the Webasto or the engine.
12v power is supplied by the 4x 115ah domestics, with a separate starter, topped up by 200w of solar with a Victron MPPT controller. 240v can be obtained from the Sterling Pro Power 1800w inverter, and there is an Optimatic battery charger and galvanic isolator fitted.
The lighting is LED throughout.
Juno has been extremely well cared for, and is ready for liveaboard life or extended cruising. You really could move in tomorrow!
