Joanie M – 57′ 6″ Trad 2007 Reeves/Sabre Narrowboats
Joanie M is a charming 57’6” trad stern gas free narrowboat in a wonderful condition both inside and out. She was built in 2007 by Reeves and superbly fitted out by Sabre Narrowboats, with oak faced ply with solid oak trim throughout.
She had a full survey carried out in September 2022, and benefits from a recent blacking (November 2022), and the engine was serviced in October 2020.
The cratch covered well deck features a demountable table and padded seats, with storage under, and a glazed cratch board with opening windows at the bow.
This leads through double bi-folding doors to the large saloon (13’4”) maximising the useable space both inside and out. There is a Boatman solid fuel stove at the centre, a large three seater sofa which converts to a space double, and a two seater dinette. A series of cupboards and shelves run along the port side, with a 22” wall mounted TV\DVD combo too.
The galley follows and consists of a 2 burner electric hob, 12v fridge & freezer, electric oven & grill, Zanussi washing machine, and a sink recessed in to the Corian worktop. There are side hatches either side with hinged acrylic screens with oak surrounds, filling this space with natural light and fresh air.
A door leads into the walk through bathroom. This has a large quadrant enclosed shower, ceramic sink over vanity unit, a Dometic Sealand cassette loo and a bidet. The Houdini hatch over the shower again increases the natural light in this room.
The bedroom features a 6’1” x 5’0” cross bed, with plenty of cupboards, shelves, drawers & a double wardrobe for storage.
A small step leads into the rear cabin which houses the Beta 43 engine, and the boat electrics.
She is very well equipped with 12v power supplied by the x4 110ah domestic batteries and 230v is from the 3kva Victron inverter/charger, landline or the on board 7kva generator (with a dedicated starter battery). There is 860w of solar power for the domestic batteries, with an MPPT controller, which was serviced in September 2022.
Propulsion is aided by the Vetus bowthruster (tube recently replaced), with a dedicated 120ah battery, and additional 80w of solar.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel heater, connected to 5 radiators, a towel rail, and the 64L calorifier. Hot water is also heated by the engine and an immersion heater when on landline.
All the lighting is LED, and there is a galvanic isolator on board.
An excellent boat, full of utilities for liveaboard life.
