Jessica is a charming 55’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 1991 by Liverpool Boats and fitted out by Bridgewater Boats with some refurbishment by the current owner. She is super charming and full of character.
She was blacked and the engine serviced in the summer of 2022, and she had a hull survey in 2020 (some minor pitting was spot welded).
She feels really cottagy, fitted out in painted Tongue & groove, birch ply and with a Tiger Bamboo floor throughout.
There is a little storage locker in the bows, and the integral water tank is under the well deck. A step leads into the saloon. This is a good sized room at over 12’ with free standing furniture. There is a Morso solid fuel stove and a Clic Clac sofabed, along with a shelving unit, an armchair and a couple of stools.
The galley is adjacent and utilites comprise of a 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, a 12v fridge with icebox, a stainless steel sink and storage. A side hatch on the starboard side (with roof hatch) adds light and air.
There follows what used to be a dinette area, but is now an office. This now has a desk with chair, drawers, a clothes rail area and the washing machine.
The bathroom sits off the starboard side corridor. through a sliding door. The basin is ceramic, the loo is a Sealand Traveler pumpout and the large shower cubicle is tiled with a curtain.
The bedroom is next. The fixed double is 6’4” x 4’6” and has storage under all of it. At the foot of the bed sits a storage unit.
A door leads through into the engine room. The Vetus 1.4 engine, recently serviced, is under the boards. The gas locker, accessed from outside, is set into the port side of the engine room.
She is centrally heated by an Alde gas boiler. This also heats the hot water, as does the engine and the programmable immersion heater.
12v power comes from the bank of two domestic batteries and 230v is from either the landline or the 375w inverter. There is also a galvanic isolator on board and all the lighting is LED.
A cosy boat, ready for immediate occupation.
