James Henry – 60′ Trad Stowe Hill Marine 2000
James Henry is a superbly maintained 60’ traditional stern narrowboat built here at Stowehill in 2000. She has been in the same hands since new and has been moored here since new. Anything that has ever needed to be done has been done and she is in superb condition.
She benefits from a full repaint in 2019 which is still in excellent condition, and she was blacked in April this year. It is a reluctant sale, and I can understand why.
The well deck is a good size at 5’ 2” and has a good condition cratch cover over. There is a fold down table from the glazed cratchboard and there are two fold down chairs on board to put out here. The 900 litre water tank is under.
Steps lead down into the 10’7” saloon. This is a really cosy room and has a solid fuel stove, a cupboard with TV point and an L shaped couch. This has storage under and a fold down extendable dining table from the wall opposite. It also makes up into a spare double berth. A houdini hatch in the roof adds light and air.
A useful storage cupboard sits in between the dinette and the galley. The galley is 7’7” long and has a four burner gas hob, oven & grill, a sink with draining board, a LEC 24v fridge with icebox, a microwave oven and plenty of storage options. There are side hatches on either side (with perspex screens).
Aft of the galley is the bedroom. The fixed double is 6’2” x 4’ and has storage under. At the aft end is a 5 drawer chest and there are shelves under the starboard gunwales.
The bathroom sits off corridor and has a shower over a hipbath, a ceramic pumpout loo, and a ceramic wash basin.
Next is the utility room. This has a washing machine, a tumble dryer, and a half height wardrobe. There are side hatches either side in here also.
The stern cabin is very traditional with a cross bed, a bench on the starboard side and a range in the corner.
The engine is a Beta BV1903 (rebuilt in 2018) and serviced in April this year and propulsion is aided by the hydraulic bowthruster. There are 6x 110ah leisure batteries putting 24v through the boat, and 230v is from landline or the 1800w Victron inverter. All the lights are LED. She is centrally heated through finrads by an Eberspacher boiler, and this heats the hot water together with the engine or an immersion heater.
She is one of the most well loved boats I have seen and is ready for immediate occupation.
