Jacob – 53′ 1″ Trad Reeves/Kingsground
Jacob is a 53’ 1” traditional stern narrowboat built in 1997 by Reeves, and fitted out by Kingsground Narrowboats in oak faced ply with oak trim throughout. She was last blacked in July 2022 (including the base plate), with a full engine service and out of water survey carried out at the same time.
The cratch covered well deck features lockers either side, which double up as external seating.
Steps lead down into the 12’0” saloon, with a fixed bench at one end, gateleg table, arm chair, Villager multi-fuel stove, 12v TV and a range of storage options.
The 7’0” galley follows, with a 12v Shoreline fridge (with icebox), stainless steel sink, Thetford oven & grill, Vanette 4 burner gas hob, and plenty of cupboards. A starboard side hatch with roof access provides additional light and fresh air.
The bedroom (8’6”) is next, featuring a 6’3” x 4’0” double berth with storage under, a set of 3 drawers and a little cupboard. A full height wardrobe sits in the corridor to the bathroom.
Next is the 5’8” off-corridor bathroom, with a Thetford cassette loo (3 cassettes), rectangular ceramic basin, shower with tiled surround, and a cupboard.
The rear cabin is compact at only 4’0”, and features a 6’1” x 2’0” single berth which extends into the engine room for that all important leg space. Under the bunk is a set of 3 drawers and a cupboard, as well as storing a spin dryer.
Steps lead into the 4’0” engine room, where the Beta 43 engine is housed below (spare service parts on board). Doors lead out onto the stern deck.
12v power is supplied by the bank of 4x 105ah domestics, with separate starter, and 240v power is via the Mastervolt 2kw inverter. A Waeco charger and Adverc battery management system help to keep your batteries healthy.
The lighting on board is LED throughout.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired system connected to 4 radiators (all NEW 2021). Hot water is supplied by the Webasto or engine.
Jacob would be perfect for a young family or couple looking for a change of pace on the waterways, and is fully equipped for liveaboard life.
