Inkie & I – 57′ Trad 1999 Evans & Sons
Inkie & I is a beautifully presented 57’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 1999 by Evans & Sons.
She has been well prepared for sale following a re-paint in 2019 which is in excellent condition, she was blacked and engine serviced in June 2020 and she has no less than 18 x3kg anodes on her, 14 of which were new in June 2020!!
She is a very spacious boat. The lovely steel covered well deck (with stainless steel water tank under) leads through glazed front doors into the huge open plan saloon (nearly 20’ long). There is currently a sofa in here, but there is still room for armchairs, a dinette or another sofabed! A small dining table is gunwale mounted near the galley, and the Morso Squirrel stove, with back boiler, heats the boat, 2 radiators and the hot water (as does the engine). Three picture windows make this room very light.
The 7’ galley follows hosting a stainless steel sink, 12v fridge / freezer, a brand new gas cooker with 4 burner hob, oven & grill, and storage cupboards on the port side. A side hatch on the starboard side adds light and air.
The bathroom sits off a corridor on the port side. The Thetford Porta Potti is brand new, the basin is ceramic and the curtained shower sits over a half bath.
The bedroom is next, and is generously proportioned at nearly 9’ long. The fixed double berth is 6’3” x 4’ and has storage under, and at the foot of the bed is a large full length double wardrobe. A wall mounted TV sits at the end of the bed.
Steps lead into the rear cabin under which sits the Beta 38 engine. There is additional shelving in here as well as the electrics; there is a 3kw inverter providing 230v thoughout (as well as a landline hook up point), she has 120w solar power, and a bank of five batteries. All the lighting is LED.
She is a beautiful boat to look at with lovely lines and lovely paintwork. There is really nothing to do to her apart from adding your personal touches and she is ready to move onto.
