Hobbit – 25′ Cruiser 2015 Aintree Beetle
Hobbit is such a sweet and well cared for little boat. She is a 25’ Aintree Beetle built in 2015. She has only had two owners since new, and despite being 8 years old, she has been so well looked after that I would imagine anyone would guess her age at a lot less.
She has just (May 2023) been blacked (including four new anodes) and she had a hull survey in 2019.
The stern deck is 4’3” long and has comfortable bench seats around the outside. There is a tonneau cover for protection when not in use. The engine, a Beta 16, sits under the boards as do the two gas bottles. Steps lead down into the dinette area. This will seat four arranged as two singles either side of the boat. They have storage under and each converts into a single berth 6’ long. Above the starboard one is a TV aerial point and a bracket for a wall mounted TV.
The galley / bathroom area are next. The galley area is on the portside and has a 12v Waeco fridge with icebox, an oven & grill (hardly used), a two burner gas hob and a sink. There is storage under the oven for pans and an extractor fan over the hob.
The loo is on the starboard side. It is a wet room arrangement with a shower (curtain under bench in saloon), a ceramic corner sink and a Thetford cassette loo. There is an extractor fan over.
The saloon is in the forward cabin. This has two opposing bench seats (storage under) which converts into a cross bed double berth. On one side of the step is a small wardrobe and on the other a cupboard. There is a wall mounted 19” TV/DVD combo on the starboard side.
Steps lead out onto the well deck. This does have a cratch cover for winter and the stainless steel water tank is under. There are bench seats (storage under) with cushions either side, and a little storage locker in the bows.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher warm air blower, and hot water is heated by the engine or an immersion heater. 230v is from either the landline or the 800w Victron inverter/charger. 12v is from the two 135ah domestic batteries & one starter. All the lights are LED. She also has a 55w solar panel and a galvanic isolator.
She is such a charming little boat, well equipped and with really clever use of space.
