Grace is a charming 70’ trad stern narrowboat built by Les Allen in 1983, and partially refitted forward of the engine room by Dave Bixter in 2011. She is fitted out in Piranha pine with pine trim throughout, with carpeted floors forward of the engine room.
She has been well cared for, benefitting from a recent blacking (September 2022), 10 new anodes in 2020 and a survey in September 2020 available for viewing in the office.
The cratch covered well deck is comfortable at 4’4” with lockers either side, and a wooden storage unit for your navigation equipment.
Steps lead down into the 13’6” saloon, with 2 comfy armchairs, Morso Squirrel stove, extending dining table, and a range of cupboards, shelves and drawers for storage.
The 9’10” galley is next, with extendable worktop space, large sink, 12v Shoreline fridge, Belling 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill. Theres storage for 10 bottles of wine, as well as plenty of cupboards and shelves. A port side hatch sits partway to the bathroom, bringing in additional light and fresh air.
Next is the bathroom, large at 7’0”, with a hip bath with shower over, Dometic cassette loo, ceramic counter sunk wash basin, and a cupboard.
The 9’7” bedroom follows, with a fixed 6’4” x 4’4” double berth, double wardrobe, and a range of smaller cupboards and drawers.
Following, the Russell Newbery DM2 engine is housed in the 5’0” engine room, with a cocooned Beta Marine 5.5kw generator. The engine was last serviced in March 2022.
The boatmans cabin is 10’8”, housing two single berths, more storage, and a Premier solid fuel stove. Steps lead out onto the 3’7” trad stern deck.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired system connected to 3 radiators and a towel rail, and hot water is supplied by the engine and immersion.
12v power is supplied by the bank of 4x 110ah domestics, with separate starter, and 240v is via a Victron Multiplus 3kVA inverter/charger, landline or the generator.
Lighting onboard is LED throughout.
With so much storage and plenty of space, she will make somebody a lovely family home.
