Goodway – 55′ Cruiser 2003 Liverpool Boats
Goodway is a 55’ cruiser stern ‘Kingfisher’ class narrowboat built by Liverpool Boats in 2003. She has been the home of her owners for the last 5 years, so her credentials as a liveabord are tried and tested.
The two gas bottles are in the forward locker. The well deck is covered by a cratch cover, and the 400 litre stainless steel water tank is underneath. There is a large wooden storage box / seat at the forward end. Steps lead into the saloon.
This is over 10’ long and has a two seater couch with a further ottoman style stool / footrest. This is free standing and can be moved so that the couch forms a single berth across the boat. There is a solid fuel stove and a TV aerial point / stereo opposite in some cupboards.
The dinette area is next. This converts to a spare double berth and has storage under.
Aft of the dinette is the galley. This is 7’ long and utilities comprise of a 4 burner gas hob, oven and grill, a stainless steel sink, a 12v fridge (with icebox) and plenty of storage. A side hatch opposite the sink adds light and air.
A corridor (with a wardrobe) leads to the bathroom. The loo is a Thetford cassette with 4 cassettes, and the basin is countersunk plastic over a cupboard. The shower cubicle is tiled with a curtain.
The bedroom is next. The fixed double bed is 6’3” long and 4’ wide. It does extend to 4’10” wide, but there is currently no in-fill mattress. There is a cupboard over the bed, drawers underneath and at the foot end a chest of drawers and another cupboard. Opposite that is a floor to ceiling shelving cupboard. Steps lead up, past the electrics cupboard, to the 7’5” cruiser stern deck. The Isuzu engine is under here and has been serviced every 6 months.
12v is from the bank of 5 domestic batteries (2 years old) and most of the lights are LED. The batteries are topped up from the 640w of solar. 230v comes from either landline hook up or the 2500w inverter. She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired boiler and this, along with the engine or the immersion heater, heats the hot water.
She was last blacked in 2020 with bitumen over epoxy 2 pack.
Goodway is a charming boat, ready for her new owners.
