Genesis – 45’6″ Tug 1992 South West Durham
Genesis is a 45’6” South West Durham Tug style traditional stern narrowboat built in 1992. She is in lovely condition following recent renovations to the saloon, galley and bathroom, and even has a new Beta 38 engine with only 50 hours on the clock!
She was last blacked in October 2021 and was surveyed in June 2019 which is available for viewing in the office.
The stern deck leads down into the 9’0” boatmans cabin, with the new engine housed below. A cross bed folds out in traditional style, and there are plenty of cupboards for storage. A fixed bench provides a cosy reading nook when the bed is not in use.
Next is the 6’8” galley, with a ceramic sink, laminate worktops, Montpellier fridge with separate freezer compartment (NEW 2022), Thetford 3 burner gas hob, oven and grill (NEW 2022), and a range of cupboards and drawers. Side hatches either side bring in additional light and fresh air.
The off corridor bathroom follows. This 5’4” space fits in a bath with mixer shower tap, ceramic wash basin over vanity cupboard and a Thetford PortaPotti loo.
Following, the 10’2” saloon is at the front of the boat. A Refleks diesel stove (NEW 2022) sits in the middle, with plenty of space around it for additional comfortable seats or other furniture.
Steps lead out onto the 5’11” tug deck, with access to the gas locker.
12v power on board is provided by 3x 125ah domestics (NEW 2020) with a 90ah starter, topped up by 240w of solar with a Victron MPPT solar charge controller. 240v power is via a Victron Multiplus Compact 1600va inverter/charger or landline. There is also a galvanic isolator and Victron battery monitor installed.
Lighting on board is mostly halogen.
She is a charming boat, lovingly updated with a light and modern feel throughout. She would be ideal for weekends away or extended cruising.
