Gan Canny is a charming 58’6” traditional stern narrowboat built in 2009 by Braidbar, on a Tim Tyler hull. She is Braidbars 113th build, and shares the same excellent quality that you would expect, fitted out in a mix of painted ply, and pine T&G, with oak trim.
She benefits from blacking in March 2022 (3 coats) and a survey was carried out in 2020 (available on the boat for inspection).
The cratch covered well deck is 5’0” with a forward cushioned locker for storage and seating.
Steps lead down into the 10’11” saloon, with a large sofa bed, shelving along the port side, new 32” Samsung TV, Morso Squirrel stove, and small side table. A port side hatch brings in plenty of additional light and fresh air.
The 7’6” galley follows, with a 12v Shoreline fridge (with icebox), 7kg Hotpoint washing machine, Country Leisure 4 burner gas hob, Spinflo oven & grill, stainless steel recessed sink, and a range of low and high level cupboards for storage.
A unique cut out bulk head separates the galley from the midship dinette (6’3”). A starboard side hatch brings in plenty of additional light and fresh air when dining.
The walkthrough bathroom is 6’2”, featuring a vinyl lined shower cubicle with glass doors, a Thetford 260 electric flush loo, and a ceramic counter sunk basin.
Next is the 9’3” bedroom, with a 6’4” x 4’6” double bed (with extension), double wardrobe over a set of drawers, and cupboards over the bed.
The engine room is 5’1”, with the Beta Marine B43 engine housed below. This was last serviced in June 2022 by an ex-Braidbar engineer. Navigation is also adided by a Lewmar Hydraulic bowthruster.
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel fired system connected to 3 radiators and a towel rail, and hot water is supplied by the engine, Webasto, or immersion.
12v power is supplied by the bank of 4x 105ah domestics, with a separate starter, topped up by 100w of solar. 240v power is via a Mastervolt Combi 2.5kw inverter/charger and a 3.5kw Mastervolt Whisper generator. There is also a galvanic isolator fitted.
The lighting onboard is LED throughout, including under gunwhale mood lighting.
She is will make somebody a lovely liveaboard home, and is ideal for extended cruising.
