Gabriel – 59′ Reverse layout Semi Trad 2013 Alexander Boats / Aquarius
Gabriel is a stunning 59’ reverse layout semi trad narrowboat built in 2013 by Aquarius on an Alexander shell. She has been in the same hands since new and has been really well looked after.
She was last blacked in 2021 (Epoxy 2 pk) and she was fully repainted in 2021 by Steve Furniss at Weedon.
The rear deck has a pramhood over (new in 2022). There are lockers / bench seats either side and the engine, a Beta 50 with hospital silencer, is under the boards. Propulsion is aided by the hydraulic bowthruster (serviced 2021) and the axiom propeller.
Steps lead to the galley. She is fitted out in American ash, and the floor is solid oak. The utilities in the galley comprise of a stainless steel sink with drainer, a 12v fridge fridge & freezer, a three burner gas hob, oven & grill, a microwave oven and a full full size washing machine. There is plenty of work surface and storage.
The dinette area is next. This has a side hatch opposite and converts into a spare double berth. There is storage underneath.
Forward of the dinette is the saloon. This is a cosy room with two swivel armchairs, a 19” TV/DVD, a Morso solid fuel stove and a cupboard. There is another side hatch on the starboard side with glazed doors.
The bathroom is a walk through arrangement. The shower is a vinyl lined quadrant cubicle, the loo is a Thetford cassette with ceramic bowl, and the basin is also ceramic.
The bedroom is in the forward cabin. The bed is a cross bed (storage under) and there are two floor to ceiling shelving cupboards, a wardrobe and lockers either side of the bed. Steps lead up to the well deck (which has a cover for the winter).
She is centrally heated by a Webasto diesel boiler or the back boiler on the stove. The water tank is stainless steel and hot water is heated by the Webasto, the back boiler, the engine or an immersion heater.
12v is from the bank of 4 domestic batteries and 230v is from either the landline, the 3kw Victron inverter or the 3.5kw Travel Power generator. All the lights are LED and she has 700w solar power.
She is a lovely boat; very well equipped and in very good condition.
