Elizabeth Em – 40′ Cruiser 2006 Stoke on Trent Narrowboats
Elizabeth Em is a charming cruiser stern narrowboat built in 2006 by Stoke-on-Trent narrowboats, and at 40’ she packs plenty into a well laid out design. She is expertly fitted out in oak faced ply, oak tongue and groove, and solid oak trim throughout.
She was last blacked in January 2020, with 2 pack epoxy to the hull sides and bowthruster tube.
The 4’8” cratch covered well deck features low level lockers either side, and a seat height forward locker, with access to the 55kgf Vetus bowthruster.
Steps lead down into the 11’2” saloon. The L-shaped bench features drawers and storage space under, and a demountable dinette table. This converts easily into the main double berth, comfortable at 6’10” x 4’2”. A wardrobe, couple of cupboards and a TV cabinet provide ample storage, and a Lockgate diesel stove will keep you toasty. There is also a 22” LG TV and Sony DAB sterio for entertainment.
Next is the 6’6” galley, with wooden worktops, Stoves DIT500 oven, grill & 4 burner gas hob, 12v LEC fridge with icebox, Belfast sink, and a range of cupboards, shelves and drawers. A starboard side hatch and houdini over bring in additional light and fresh air.
The bathroom is at the aft, making use of 6’0” of cabin space for a tiled shower, Thetford cassette loo, and ceramic wash basin. There is additional storage under the aft steps, and under the sink.
Steps lead out onto the 7’4” cruiser stern deck. The Beta Greenline 38 engine is housed below, which was last serviced in May 2023. A tonneau cover keeps the elements at bay when the boat is not in use.
A back boiler runs off the Lockgate stove, centrally heating a radiator and towel rail. Hot water is via the Lockgate back boiler, engine, and immersion.
12v power is via a bank of 3x 100ah domestics, with separate bowthruster and starter supply., topped up by 250w of solar with a Victron solar charge controller. 240v power is via a Victron Multiplus inverter/charge or landline.
Lighting onboard is LED throughout.
