Dawnbreaker – 48′ Trad 1999 Pedigree Boatbuilders
Dawnbreaker is a charming 48’0” trad stern narrowboat, built and fitted out by Pedigree Boatbuilders in 1999.
She feels really cosy, fitted out in beautifully scrumbled ply to the cabin sides with carpet under the gunwales, and white painted T&G ceilings. The bathroom is lined with vinyl and she has ash laminate flooring throughout, for practicality.
The large well deck (5’0”) is ideal for entertaining outside, with the flexible bladder water tank housed under. Access to the gas bottles in the bow locker is also easy from here.
The cosy saloon is entered through glazed double doors. This houses a two seater sofa, a solid fuel stove, and a TV/DVD combo. There are also cupboards and shelves for storage, and a breakfast bar with a stool backing on to the galley.
The galley follows and offers a four burner gas hob, a seperate oven & grill, a 12v fridge with an icebox and a sink with a draining board. There is plenty of storage in here, including a large pullout larder cupboard.
The port side off-corridor bathroom is next with a Thetford Porta Potti 365, and a curtained shower tray. The basin is counter-sunk into a vanity unit, with a mirrored cabinet over.
The bedroom is next, with a fixed 6’4” x 4’0” bed, with plenty of storage under. A cupboard sits over the head end, and a single wardrobe sits alongside shelves and a smaller cupboard at the foot end.
The aft cabin houses the Beta Marine BV1505 engine, as well as the onboard electrics and additional storage.
Propulsion is aided by the Axium propeller.
The calorifier is under the bed, keeping your toes warm, and the Alde gas boiler for the central heating is located between the galley and bathroom. This also heats the hot water, as does the engine, and a 1kw immersion heater when on landline.
12v power is supplied by the 2x 115ah batteries, with a seperate 90ah starter, and 230v power can be obtained by two different plug in inverters at 350W and 1500W respectively.
Lighting is mostly LED with some halogen.
Dawnbreaker is a charming boat with a cosy cottage like feel, and would be ideal as an extended cruising vessel or full time home.
